I literally couldn't put this this down! Am addicted to these books and cant wait to start on the next in the series. I'd never really read a fantasy novel before but after watching twilight and loving them this caught my eye. Probably main target is teenagers but a great read for anyone really. Overall an exciting book.

Loved the book I got it for free on my kindle and thought why not but once I started reading it I couldn't put it down, so I bought the second book and fell for it even more for a free book it was one of the best so far even though they are a few errors it was out looked at the fact I really got in to the book, Rae Wilder got me hooked :) would love to see more books from Penelope fletcher

As other have said I downloaded this because it was cheap and I love fantasy fiction so I wasn't expecting too much from it. I loved it and it was great that the different species in it were not the stereo-typical type. For example she describes the vampire character as being quite ugly and the fairys are not all your usual beautifully gorgeous creatures we have come to expect. I suppose we have all had too many "Twilighty" novels now and it's all getting a bit boring so it made a pleasant change to actually meet characters who were not as expected.

This was the first book I downloaded for my kindle and i'm so happy I did! Loved reading it and finished it in one sitting, and am now going to download the other books Miss Fletcher has written!

Could not leave this book, even thought I have exams to prepare for! as some other people here said it is written for a teenage audience and the style of writing is still unpolished and a little inexperienced (the author is only 22 after all!)but it is very captivating and interesting story and different from all I've read before (not your typical twilight/vampire diaries book, even though it is in the same genre). Would recommend it to teenage/young adult readers who like love stories and fantasy worlds!

Downloaded this book first of all for the price £0.00, but really enjoyed the story. Didn't take very long to read, but the fact that I couldn't put it down had a lot to do with that ! Can't wait for the next book

There is a great idea in here, and I'm guessing this is a first novel, otherwise it would be very disappointing. There are times when the narrative jumps with no obvious break, which may be down to the format. Although I have read other books which seem to overcome this issue. The post apocalyptic setting is well imagined, although some things are over-described, or repeated too frequently.

I thought that the idea of this book was really good, however like some of the other reviewers was a little disappointed by some of the poor use of language - whether this was the fault of the author, the editor or the transcriber for the Kindle edition - I don't know.
However this didn't really affect my overall enjoyment of the book and I will certainly look for and download the next instalment!
