Having read all of the Anna Travis series I found this one to be of an equally high standard as its predecessors. For me its La Plante's attention to detail and her ability to weave an intricate plot over a simple framework that got me hooked on this series.
She may not be the most literary of authors but she can write a real page turner like few others can.How another reviewer can say this novel is silly and predictable is totally beyond me !
All Anna Travis fans should be ready to get their latest fix.

I am never disappointed in anything written by Lynda le Plante and this is another gripping tale. It starts off as as a routine enquiry and then the reader is gripped by all the twists and turns the story takes. readers of this book will not be disappointed, i couldn't put it down. brilliant as usual.

was disappointed by Silent Scream and Bloodline, compared to her earlier novels. This is a great improvement and back to the gritty, thrilling, edge of your seat stuff of early Prime Suspect and Trial & Retribution. .
