Oh dear it’s Halloween! V for Vendetta was originally from a comic book series written by Alan Moore and illustrated mostly by David Lloyd. It was set in a future United Kingdom imagined from the 1980s to about the 1990s.
The U.K. Government had become totalitarian in the V for Vendetta series and follows the adventures of an unknown masked revolutionary who calls himself "V". It is also a representation of Guy Fawkes the most well known member of the Gunpowder Plot, an attempt to blow up the English Palace of Westminster in London in 1605. Very useful to hide your identity from the public while you go about your anonymous deeds.

One for Halloween perhaps and for fans of Sherlock Holmes this should definitely be on your reading list. The second half of the novel is set twenty years after the first half, in which Holmes is presented with an unusual case - he's asked to investigate the apparent death of a man called Douglas, who appears to have shot himself in the head with an American-style sawed-off shotgun. However, not everything is as it seems, and the conclusion of Holmes' investigation leads you in to the second half of the adventure.
